The filter attracts and captures particles such as lint, pollen, dust, pet dander, smoke, and smog. With a rating of MERV 11, the 1000 MPR filter is capable of capturing a higher number of microparticles, such as pollen, pet dander, smoke, bacteria, and viruses, from the air passing through it. The higher the MPR, the more microparticles the filter will capture.
Filtrete Allergen Defense Air Filters are available in 4-inch, 4-inch slim fit, and 5-inch thick sizes, with MPR ratings of 1000, 1200, and 1550. For optimal performance of your heating, cooling, or HVAC system, it's recommended to change the home air filter at least every 90 days for 1-inch filters, and at least every 12 months for 4-inch and 5-inch filters. A dirty filter can slow down air flow and make the system work harder, wasting energy.
To make the filter change process more convenient, Filtrete offers a Smart app that allows you to create a change countdown. Simply scan the barcode on the filter's packaging and choose a 30-, 60-, or 90-day replacement timeline. When the filter's lifespan is up, you'll receive a notification to change it.
